Analyzing the place of Hafez in teaching social and
communication skills in schools

Abstract
The purpose of the present study is to investigate the role and position of Hafez's
poems in teaching students' social and communication skills. Hafez's poems, as one
of Iran's literary and cultural treasures, have multi-layered and deep concepts in the
field of empathy, justice, tolerance, and love, which can have a significant impact on
cultivating moral and social values. Based on theoretical foundations related to social
learning, emotional intelligence, and moral development, this study attempts to show
the importance of using Hafez's poems in the educational system. The results of the
study indicate that using poetry in the educational process can pave the way for
strengthening emotional intelligence, self-awareness, empathy, and communication
skills in students. In a world where human interactions are becoming increasingly
complex, the ability to understand others and communicate effectively with them has
become increasingly important. By emphasizing human values and the importance
of positive communication, Hafez can be an inspiring role model for students.
Hafez's poems can also help create a sense of cultural belonging and strengthen
students' national identity.
