Abstract
Travelogues, as one of the most important intercultural media, are the result of
the curiosity and efforts of the travelogue writer. These works hold a special appeal
due to the information they provide about places, people, and cultures. The
travelogues of Indian Persian writers are considered a valuable treasure of the history
and culture of this land. These works not only depict the cultural relations between
Iran and India but also offer significant insights into the social, political, and
economic conditions of the time. From a literary perspective, travelogue texts contain
important information about the stylistic features of the period, the personal style of
the author, and even their influence on or from Persian writing in India. Travel
writing flourished from the Safavid to the Qajar period, facilitating a two-way
cultural exchange between the two countries. One of the main objectives of writing
these travelogues was to transfer knowledge and ideas from one land to another,
fostering a better understanding of Eastern culture in relation to the West. With
millions of historical Persian documents in India, this country is considered one of
the largest repositories of Persian historical records in the world.
Keywords: Travelogue, Iranian and Indian culture, cultural exchange, Persian
